For physicians and informed patients, this creates an opportunity: self-directed metabolic monitoring becomes not just optional, but essential.

Why Baseline Testing Is Non-Negotiable Before GLP-1 Therapy

GLP-1 RAs work through multiple mechanisms: slowing gastric emptying, increasing satiety signaling via the hypothalamus, modulating nutrient absorption, and—critically—improving pancreatic beta-cell function and insulin sensitivity. None of this occurs in a vacuum.
