Phase Trials

The staged progression of clinical testing: Phase I tests safety in a small group; Phase II evaluates efficacy and side effects; Phase III confirms effectiveness in large populations; Phase IV monitors long-term safety after approval. Each phase must succeed before advancing to the next. The entire process from Phase I to approval typically spans 8-12 years.
