Contraindications

Active cancer or history of cancer

GH and IGF-1 are growth factors that may promote tumour growth.

Active pituitary tumours

GHRH stimulation may exacerbate pituitary pathology.

Drug Interactions

GlucocorticoidsModeratemoderate interaction

Glucocorticoids can blunt the GH response to GHRH stimulation.

May need to adjust sermorelin dose if on chronic corticosteroids.

Insulin / Diabetes medicationsModeratemoderate interaction

GH elevation affects glucose metabolism and may increase insulin resistance.

Monitor blood glucose; may need diabetes medication adjustment.

Thyroid medicationsMinorminor interaction

GH can affect T4→T3 conversion and may unmask central hypothyroidism.

Monitor thyroid function after starting GH-stimulating therapy.

Monitoring Required
