Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to clomiphene or related compounds
Enclomiphene is the active trans-isomer of clomiphene.
Active thromboembolic disease
SERMs carry thromboembolic risk.
Liver disease
SERMs are hepatically metabolised; impaired clearance in liver disease.
Drug Interactions
Other SERMs / Aromatase inhibitorsModeratemoderate interaction
Concurrent use may have unpredictable effects on estrogen receptor modulation.
Avoid combining with other SERMs or AIs without provider guidance.
Monitoring Required
- •Total & free testosterone (every 6-8 weeks initially)
- •LH, FSH
- •Estradiol
- •Liver function tests (SERMs are hepatically metabolised)
Pregnancy & Nursing
Teratogen. Contraindicated in pregnancy. Female partners of male patients should use contraception.
